We are incredibly proud to have supported two true community leaders who ran for office not for power, but to fight for the people of Colorado Springs. While last Tuesday’s election results weren’t what we hoped for, Chauncy and Maryah will continue to be beacons of hope and change, pushing for the bold policies our community deserves. Their campaigns were powerful, and the movement behind them and what they stand for will create meaningful change that far outlasts a single City Council term.

This loss stings. There’s no way around it. But it also fuels our fire and deep drive to break down the barriers that keep young, working-class people out of office. This election only reinforced the systemic barriers that make it harder for young, working-class leaders to win. From elections held in low-turnout April races to the total lack of campaign finance limits that let big money drown out grassroots power.
This is just the beginning. We’re going to keep demanding progress, investing in young leaders, and fighting alongside our communities. And if you’re feeling angry, fired up, and ready to turn that frustration into action, now is the time. Local politics is where we have the most power, and we need you in this fight. Join us, get involved, and let’s build the future we deserve. 💪🔥
